SINDBAD GUGGENHEIM   Director & Cinematographer

Sindbad is a director and cinematographer based between New York, Mexico City and Paris. 

Prior to working as a filmmaker, he has worked for over a decade in the art world which greatly influenced his aesthetic as a camera person.

His work ranges from documentaries and non-scripted television to non-profit films and branded content. 

He is most passionate about character-driven stories shedding light on social issues related to vulnerable and underrepresented communities.  

In the past few years he has worked on a variety of projects in Mexico, Bolivia, Argentina, Canada, Iceland, Morocco, Turkey, Israel, Spain, France, Italy, Germany, the UK and all over the US.

For the past three years he has been producing and directing the feature documentary The Kitchen, an immigration related film following two Central American families from the moment they leave their home and continues well beyond the US/Mexico border. He was invited to show his work at NYU Tisch Film School as well as Columbia Film School. His short Feliz Viaje premiered in 2021 at Cinema Galleggiante, a satellite event of the Venice Film Festival. He was recently awarded the Film Fund grant for Omar, a short documentary exploring issues of identity, trauma and stigma connected to dark family legacies.
